According to Jupiter MMXI the market reach of searchengines is huge. Google alone reaches more than one third of all German surfers and in Sweden MSN.se reaches fifty percent. Every day 80% of all surfers use a searchengine to find new sites. These numbers make searchengines to a vital part of every marketing campaign.

Although searchengines index billions of pages and every search returns thousands of results the average surfer will most likely only see the first ten to thirty results. Among these he chooses the most apprehensive entries. He or she will only visit three of these websites (on average).

These leads to the conclusion that your website has to come up as a top result. But not just as a top result for any search, but only for searches in your area of expertise. That way you can present yourself and / or your products to an audience who is actively looking for you.

To use this wonderful tool in your marketing strategy you need to follow some rules which are set for by the searchengines.But even before that you have to come up with a list of keywords which are relevant for your business.
