Most of you probably already have experience with PPC. But in Germany and even more in Sweden this is a very new model for SEO. Only in December 2001 the first searchengine in Germany started with a PPC program and in Sweden their is none till today.
PayPerClick (PPC) in a nutshell - is placing bids on keywords so your web address will show up with a search. The highest bidder shows up number one and so forth. It is important to be among the first three because only these entries will also show up on the partner sites of the PPC searchengine.
Did you recently visit Yahoo, Alta Vista, Lycos or any other major searchengine? They all show PPC results on top of the results from their own database. In Germany the market is divided between E-Spotting and Overture. In Sweden PPC is not in business yet but expected to start very soon.
PPC is really easy and fast. You pay only if someone will actually click on your link. If you have choosen the right keywords and attract the right audience every click will give you one prospect. Then it is up to you and your website to close the deal.
With PPC you can decide how much in what time to spend for searchengine marketing. You can change entries and keywords very fast and react to any change in the market immediately. You will know in advance how much every visitor will cost you. But when you decide to cut your spendings you will also loose the traffic.
PayPerClick is best used for advertising and short term traffic. But if you want to position your own site and build a steady searchengine position PPC is too expensive.
